Natalie Kates is a gallerist, curator, and producer of art-related events in New York City, while the husband Fabrizio Ferri is a business school professor. The two established a collection of contemporary art that began fifteen years ago with early street art works. In 2020 they conceived KATES-FERRI PROJECTS as a nomadic artist residency with partnerships across New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. Then, in 2022 KATES-FERRI PROJECTS opened its anchor location at 561 Grand Street, NYC, in the heart of the Lower East Side - a creative community that continues to serve as a cultural and artistic incubator. In summer 2023 the gallery further expanded to include 563 Grand Street. Since then, the “main” gallery at 561 Grand Street hosts new gallery’s exhibitions, while the “B-side” gallery at 563 Grand Street hosts artist residencies, guest curated exhibitions, and other special projects.
KATES-FERRI PROJECTS focuses on emerging artists and new voices from all over the world, often overlooked in the contemporary art world. Our program – ranging from paintings and sculptures to mixed media art and installations – aims to create a platform for global conversation while building a diverse, inclusive, and engaged community of art lovers.
KATES-FERRI PROJECTS has been a NADA Gallery Member since August 2023
